Peacock School of Dance began in 1952 under the founder Helen E. Peacock. Miss
Helen as she was so lovingly known to her students, saw her dreams come true as the school of 17 grew throughout the years into a thriving studio teaching tap, jazz, ballet and acro. The school had several homes from the Ridgeway Legion, the Odd Fellows Hall, Miss Helen’s basement and Ridge Rd. It wasn’t until Derene Venturini, Lesley Krieger and Pamela Hensler (Helen’s daughter) took over the business in 1990 that the studio moved to the current location on Dominion Rd in Fort Erie. Generations of dancers have passed through the doors bringing their children back to the place they called home for so many years. Miss Helen’s legacy lives on with the school’s motto of “Smile with your eyes and dance from your heart”.
